Helm is a robust, modular warehouse management system built for growing businesses. With Helm, you gain precise control over your inventory, suppliers, and shipping processes. First Steps

1. Logging In

  • Visit Helm helmwms.com.

  • First-time users will be prompted to book a demo.

2. Navigating the Dashboard

  • The dashboard provides a real-time summary of many things like stock levels, pending orders, and recent deliveries.

  • The left-hand menu allows access to all major modules, including Inventory, Orders, and Reports.

3. Configuring User Settings

Accessing Your Account Settings

  1. Navigate to the top right corner of the interface and click on your profile name (e.g. "Helm Demo")

What You Can Do

My Account
Update your name, email address, and reset your password for enhanced account security.

Support
Click Support to open the help centre, submit a ticket, or access documentation and training resources.

Switch Between Warehouses
If your account has access to multiple warehouse environments, use this option to toggle between them.

Logout Securely
Select Logout to end your session safely.

Tips

  • For best results, use a secure password with a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Set up multiple warehouse addresses early - even if unused - for easier order routing later.

  • Always double-check your warehouse selection before making stock or order changes.

  • Contact support via the same menu if your access needs updating or you require role changes.

Key Setup Areas

1. Address Manager

Navigate to Settings and then to Address Manager. Define and manage your operational addresses, including:

  • Sender Addresses: Used to populate the “ship_from” address.

  • Return Addresses: Where undelivered or returned items should be routed.

  • Invoice Addresses: Where automated invoices take the data from.

  • Distribution Points: Assign different addresses to individual stores, warehouses, or sales channels. These address profiles are automatically applied during order routing and label generation.

2. Inventory Management (CSV Imports)

Quickly populate Helm with your existing product catalogue by importing via CSV.

You can:

  • Map fields such as SKU, Product Name, Barcode, Stock Quantity, Cost Price, and more.

  • Use standard import template.

  • Perform bulk updates to product data at any time - Ideal during initial setup or when migrating from another system.

3. Warehouse Locations

Create structured warehouse layouts by defining:

  • Create a custom Location type if needed (call it something like Section, Bins or something unique to your business).

  • Set unique properties per location (to determine how far away that location is to the packing terminal, or whether that location is used for bulk storage or fulfilment etc.).

4. Stock Levels

Manage your inventory quantities manually or via automated updates:

  • Update stock through Purchase Orders and Deliveries, CSVs, manual entry, API endpoints.

  • Set Minimum / Maximum Stock Thresholds.

  • Configure Low Stock Alerts to alert you to reorder. You will receive an email taking you directly to the stock in question.

  • Examine your Stock Replenishment Overview to stay on top of availability across all channels.

5. Marketplace Integrations

Extend your reach and streamline operations by seamlessly connecting Helm to over 130 leading global sales channels.

In today's dynamic retail landscape, selling across multiple online marketplaces is paramount for maximising reach and revenue.   • Pre-generate your labels in the background to save time when processing via our plugin (Pregen).

  • Assign Courier Rules based on weight, region, or delivery service.

  • Print shipping labels directly within Helm.

  • Book in deliveries, match stock received against POs.

  • Create statuses for easier categorisation (e.g. “QC Check”, “Awaiting Courier”).

Automate and streamline how orders are handled from the moment they are received to the point they’re ready for despatch. Helm enables intelligent decision-making through configurable Order Rules, helping you:

  • Prioritise orders by SKU, sales channel, or customer type.

  • Auto-hold, flag, or split orders depending on quantity or item combinations.

  • Trigger automated actions when the order is updated. Useful for team accountability, tracking, and internal process visibility.
