What is Douglas Marketplace
Douglas Marketplace is the marketplace arm of Douglas: a major European beauty and personal-care retailer. The marketplace allows approved third-party sellers to list complementary cosmetics, fragrance, skincare, haircare and beauty accessories alongside Douglas’ own assortment.
Adding Douglas to Helm lets you treat it like any other channel in your ecosystem: orders, inventory, despatch updates and channel-specific settings are managed centrally in Helm rather than across multiple vendor consoles.
PROS ✅ | CONS ❌ |
Direct access to a large, beauty-focused customer base across Douglas’ markets. | Sellers must apply and be approved by Douglas; onboarding can include product and documentation review. |
Real-time order import and inventory synchronisation when configured via Helm. | Some product categories are subject to regulatory or retailer restrictions (e.g., certain cosmetic claims, restricted ingredients, or age-restricted products). |
Centralised fulfilment, invoicing and reporting: reduces duplicated admin across multiple marketplaces. | Marketplace fees and commission structures are agreed during onboarding and can vary by category and market. |

Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Start the Douglas integration in Helm
Log in to your Helm account.
Navigate to Settings → Sales Channels.
Click Add New Channel, search for Douglas and select Add / Install.
Note:
You will need an approved Douglas seller account to complete onboarding.

Step 2: Enter Your Credentials
Douglas will provide the credentials or access tokens required to connect. In Helm, populate the integration fields with the credentials supplied by Douglas:
Active – Toggle Is Active to enable the channel.
Name – Enter a descriptive channel name (e.g. Douglas DE).
API URL / Endpoint – Use the API endpoint supplied by Douglas for your seller account.
API Key / Token – Paste the API key or access token provided by Douglas.
Selected Channel / Market – If Douglas supports multiple regional markets, select the target market (e.g. DE, AT, FR) as appropriate.
Ensure credentials are copied exactly as supplied by Douglas. Douglas may request sample product files, images or additional documentation during onboarding — have a representative product file ready if requested.
Optional configuration tabs include:
Adjust these parameters in accordance with your business protocols.
Credentials – Enter any extra parameters (client IDs, refresh tokens) if provided by Douglas.
Settings – Select the warehouse from which Douglas orders will be fulfilled; set default shipping methods and lead times.
Stock Control – Enable Auto Sync Stock to push inventory updates from Helm to Douglas automatically.
Brand – Configure company/brand details for this channel; Helm can use defaults from General Settings or a channel-specific profile.
Commercial Invoice – Populate channel-specific invoice details for cross-border sales, if required.
Despatch Emails – Choose whether Helm should send despatch notifications (with tracking) back to customers via Douglas.
Invoice / Document Upload – If Douglas requires invoice upload or specific document workflows, enable Helm’s document upload features and map them to the channel.
🔐 Always use the credentials tied to your Douglas seller account. If you’re unsure which token to use, check the onboarding instructions or seller console provided by Douglas.

Step 3: Save and Activate
Click Submit (or Save) to store your credentials.
Helm will attempt to connect to Douglas. On successful connection you’ll see a confirmation message and the channel will be listed as active. Helm will then begin importing orders and syncing stock according to your sync settings.
If you encounter authentication or permission errors, confirm:
Your Douglas seller account has been approved.
The API token you entered is current (tokens can expire or require refresh).
Any product feed, images or catalogue submissions requested by Douglas were submitted and approved.

Completion
Once connected, the Douglas channel will be manageable from Helm: approved listings will be visible and editable, orders will import automatically, Helm will submit despatch/tracking updates, and inventory will be kept in sync to reduce oversells. Continue to monitor onboarding messages from Douglas for any additional documentation or compliance requests.
