Order Rules
Order Rules in Helm allow you to automate decision-making during order processing based on specific conditions such as SKU, order value, shipping destination, or item quantity. These rules enable you to streamline your fulfilment process, reduce manual oversight, and increase operational accuracy

When to Use
Use Order Rules when:
You want to automatically route orders for special handling (e.g. high-priority or fragile goods)
Orders with certain SKUs or destinations need special treatment or manual approval
Orders should be flagged, held, or escalated based on business logic
You want to automate team workload distribution

Steps to Create an Order Rule
Navigate to:
Settings → Order RulesClick Create Rule
Name your rule (e.g. Hold All International Orders or Flag Bulk Orders)
Define your condition(s):
Example conditions:
SKU contains “GLASS”
Destination country is not “GB”
Quantity > 10
Order value > £100
Define the action to be taken:
Place order on hold
Assign to specific team queue
Set priority or trigger internal notification
Save and test the rule in sandbox mode or with test orders

Example Scenarios
Hold orders with international shipping for manual verification
Flag fragile items (e.g. glassware) for extra packaging steps
Automatically pause orders with mismatched address fields or missing phone numbers

Tips & Best Practices
Use Helm’s sandbox environment to test rules before deploying
Be specific with conditions to avoid over-triggering rules
Regularly review and refine rules based on fulfilment data
